Are you looking for a more natural way to cleanse your body? If so, you may want to switch to all-natural vegan soap. Unlike traditional soap, all-natural soap is made with ingredients that are derived from plants and minerals. This means that it is less likely to cause skin irritation or other adverse effects.
If you’re like most people, you probably use conventional bar soap or body wash every day without giving it much thought. But what if there was a better option? What if there was an alternative that was made with natural ingredients? Would you make the switch? and what would make you switch?
Let me tell you why I made the switch.
- Organic soap contains no harmful chemicals and preservatives.
If you read the back of the label of the soaps that you can find in the supermarket, you will find that those soaps contain a whole lot of chemicals and preservatives.
A commercially made soap has a very strong scent and very hard. That is because the scent is made from synthetic fragrance with preservatives to make the soap scent lasts for years. Moreover, a synthetic chemical was used to make it hard so that it will not crumble even if it is soaked for hours in shower.
Yes, it cleanses you. But how about your skin? The skin is the largest organ in your body. Just like any other organ, it needs to be taken care of. Neglecting your skin can lead to a variety of problems, from simple dryness and itchiness to more serious conditions like acne, psoriasis, and even skin cancer. Fortunately, there are many ways to take care of your skin, from using a very good bar of soap to lotions and creams.
- It is environmentally friendly.
When you finish a bar of soap, that is it. Nothing is thrown away after. Unlike when you use body wash or shower gels, you throw away a bottle each time you finish one. Which means, you could be throwing at least 12 bottles a year on body wash alone. Plastic bottles start to decompose in 500 years. Yes, 500 years before it starts to decompose.
According to WWF Australia, on average, Australians use 130kg of plastic per person each year and only less than 12% of that is recycled. A more frightening truth is that up to 130,000 tonnes of plastic will find its way into our waterways and into the ocean.
Plastic is cheap to make and very versatile. But most plastics are single use. We see these in the malls every day. That plastic disposable cup when you buy your favourite milk tea. They’re convenient for a few minutes, but they end up in landfills, by the sides of roads, as litter in parks and floating in our oceans for hundreds of years before breaking down into microplastics.
- It is gentle on your skin.
Big companies often advertise that soap is bad and that it is not pH balanced. But soap has been used by our ancestors dating back from 2800 B.C.
Natural organic soap is made from ingredients that are beneficial to the skin and to help to keep it healthy and hydrate. It may be 3 to 4 times more expensive than a commercially made soap or body wash, but in the long run, the benefits outweigh the price. Remember, you only have one skin.
- It is gentle on your skin.
There are several soap ingredients like colloidal oatmeal, calendula extract that help calm irritated skin. Also, essential oils like lavender are known to soothe itchy dry skin.
Going all-natural with your soap is a great way to avoid harsh chemicals and synthetic fragrances. All-natural soaps are made with ingredients like essential oils, herbal extracts, and natural clays, which can help improve your skin health.
